Google Buzz

by Per Lund 9. February 2010 21:45

So what is this Google Buzz thing? In a post just in, they promise that they will unleash the power of the giant network already built into my GMail (recipients and senders of mails). This way I don’t have to start all over “pecking out” friends from scratch. I can stay in the comfort of my cozy Google Home. Aren’t those Google guys not just the nicest people around ;-)

Well – as always I’m intrigued by the “newness” and am likely to spend a little time on this new bit of GoogleTech. That is when the Google RollOut Team reaches my Gmailserver.  (Haven’t got the Buzz-button yet).

FireCookie: Add-on for FireFox

by Per Lund 8. February 2010 20:14

Another very cool tool for the webdevelopers toolbag is FireCookie. FireCookie is actually an extension for FireBug. With this extension you get a extra tab called “Cookie”. This tab shows which cookies and theirs values for the current site. Neat!

FireCookie installs an extra tab i the Firebug tabstrip.

FireShot:: Add-on for FireFox

by Per Lund 4. February 2010 22:54

I just found this very cool extension for FireFox called FireShot. It enables you to take screendumps in your FireFox browser – of the whole page you are watching - or just a part of it. And that is not all! After you shoot – you can do quite a bit of gfxwork before you save it to disk, email it to a colleague or copy it to your clipboard (for blog entries:)).

Do you Twitter?

by Per Lund 4. February 2010 21:47

Well…do ya?:) Twitter is a fantastic service. It enables your to eavesdrop interesting conversations (tweets) of people you know and dont know and of subjects you decide! Ofcourse  there is also alot of crap going on, but if you manage to organize your twitterlife – it certainly is a well-o-plenty of nice little titbits of valuable info and links.

Find a good TwitterClient

To get the most of Twitter you have to use a good TwitterClient. Ofcourse you can use the website itself, but in my opinion it’s much easier and nicer to use a little clientapp of your choice.

Currently I am using the Seesmic for windows, which makes it easy  to ofcourse tweet, but also importantly save my searches and groups of people I follow.

The ability to set up a “channel” with search is very powerful. This way you can create a channel about a specific subject and listen (read) what other people are saying about that subject just now. And this is how you find interesting people  you didn’t knew before.

By the way – you can follow me on @dotper.

A new blogengine => start of a new blogstream (I hope:))

by Per Lund 3. February 2010 14:42

Well, it’s certainly been a while since I last blogged!.  For this fresh new start, I have downloaded and installed a  version of the very cool “BlogEngine.NET”.   I tend to  be motivated by the “newness” (I dont think that really is a word) of things, which is why i rely on this new blogsoftware to help me get started.

It is excactly when I a couple of years ago bought a new Garmin GPS wristwatch to help me start running. And it did!! Am I still running you ask?  Well…eeh…maybe I need som new running shoes.. ;-)
